Billy Penn Music is a sync agency that works as a subsidiary of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office to bring great music (and a simplified process) to Film, TV, Commercials, and lots more. We make it a point to fight for our artists, composers, and filmmakers in the wild, wild West (aka the entertainment industry). We are proud to introduce you to five of our artists for this month:

Anikiko is a force to be reckoned with. A genre-bending queen, she makes no apologies for her passion for eliciting emotion which is strong and gentle at once. Her presence, attitude and commitment is to bring excellence to her performance and to bring that “otherness” to events and shows which people keep coming back for. Currently writing, toplining, and performing internationally with acclaimed DJ’s, Anikiko is a sought after writer for herself as well as other artists. She is on the move and found a performance flexibility doing vocal gymnastics over DJ sets.
Anikiko just announced via Instagram that she will be performing at the Sydney Opera House on New Years Eve this year!

Low Cut Connie is a Philadelphia-based rock n roll act, fronted by piano-pounding firebrand Adam Weiner. Their song "Boozophilia" was on President Obama's Presidential Playlist, and the New York Times recently said "their live show is a phenomenon." Their three records (2011's Get Out the Lotion , 2012's Call Me Sylvia , & 2015's Hi Honey ) have been acclaimed by many, including NPR , Rolling Stone , MOJO , Huffington Post , and Sound Opinions . Legendary music critic Robert Christgau, aka the Dean of American Rock Critics, famously wrote "Low Cut Connie rips shit up.
You can see Low Cut Connie live at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on December 2nd or at the Norman Music Festival (For Free!) in Norman, Oklahoma on April 29th.

Matt Vucic’s musical roots are steeped in Pittsburgh Brass soul, World Afro Pop, and Americana. He has performed in bare-knuckle dives and sun-baked amphitheaters. He has survived and his lyrics tell that story. Now calling Philadelphia home, Matt has more recently been composing and producing music for film, most notably “Samca” (2014, 4 Leagues Media Production) and “The Time Will Come” (2016, 4 Leagues Media Production).

Christie Lenée’s unique guitar work is often compared to visionaries like Michael Hedges, Joni Mitchell and Dave Matthews- fusing folky/funky playfulness with pop/rock inspired songs and virtuosic guitar compositions. She is, as Skope Magazine states, “a refreshing burst of unrestrained love and feeling… It’s simply a joy to listen to her spirit break free.”
Christie has been seen many times on stage with Tim Reynolds (guitarist for Dave Matthews Band) and a stellar cast of musicians including Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), Jeff Coffin, and Stanley Jordan. Her compositions have been showcased at the NAMM Show in Anaheim and Nashville, live on National Television and Radio, plus various festivals and venue performances across the US, Canada and Taiwan.

Originally from Southern California and now living in NYC, Annie creates endearing music which combines 60s folk/rock, Celtic folk and classical Baroque influences in her uniquely bi-coastal, "Annie" way. Though her songs are cleverly written from an adult perspective, Annie's soothing vocals, catchy melodies and universal themes allow them to be enjoyed by all ages.
Additionally, Annie Calder is co-lead singer and keyboardist in the Brooklyn-based 60s classic folk/rock band, VINTAGE PEEPLE, along with fellow singer-songwriter and bassist, Bruce Gordon. Music by ANNIE CALDER and her band, ENDORPHIN ANNIE, can currently be heard on radio, in commercials and in stores, and can be purchased on iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon.com.
